I love getting customer questions that I don’t know the answer to because I always learn so much. We had a customer call last week, and she was curious about the use of the DPL/LED light for rosacea. With the traditional DPL light, the manufacturer suggested starting with a treatment time reduced by 50%. The lights are set to stay on for 9 minutes, and anyone with very sensitive skin should use the light for 4-5 minutes.
We are also unveiling an all new product called the dpl Nuve (pronounced Noo-vay). This hand-held unit is more powerful than the panel unit and is great for spot treating. The Nuve should only be used for about 1 minute on sensitive skin. This is a great addition to our skin care product line!

This article from the Mayo Clinic website talks about what foods to eat for heathly skin. Of course spinach and blueberries are in there. But also nuts and more. Take a look.
Lots of good information on a host of other health related topics on the site, mayoclinic.com.

Beauty Skin for Acne
We never get tired of hearing from customers about how our products make their lives better. Like today we got this message from another satisfied customer:
“Hi, I bought the Dr Kern, and love it (my skin has healed 99.9% in 3 months)”.
Jamie
So how does it work? Well it is pretty simple. The blue lights kill the bacteria that clog the pores and the red lights sooth and heal the skin.
If you want the longer more technical description of how it works, read all about it here.
It works, guaranteed. Use the Beauty Skin every day for up to 60 days and if you don’t see the results you want, send it back for a full refund.

We recently had a customer ask if our DPL Skin Therapy Light would help her Rosacea. I sent the query to the expert at the manufacturer and she had some great advice.
Rosacea
When using the DPL™ Skin Therapy System for Rosacea Skin Treatments you will want to start out slowly and use the system to your comfort level. The time will vary based on the individual. Some will be able to use the system for the full 9 minutes 2x’s per day, and others will only be able to use the system for let’s say 6, 7, or 8 minutes within a session and/or only for one session a day versus 2x’s per day. Adjust the use of the system as needed, go slowly watching to see how your skin responds to the lights…you should never see any itchy, redness or rash while using the system and if you do you will want to make adjustments (time & number of times) according to your individual needs. You may only be able to use the system for 6 minutes and only once per day…will you still get results, yes! We have been told that with continued use of the DPL™ Skin Therapy System at the speed that is comfortable it will help with the Rosacea skin treatments but, use it according to what is comfortable to you.

I had a customer call in with a question. She does retinoid skin treatments and chemical peels weekly and wanted to know how long she should wait before using the DPL skin therapy light.

I decided to ask the smart people at LED Technologies who make our DPL/LED skin therapy light. Here is their answer:
“When someone is using a retinoid product for skin treatment, she will not want to have that product on her face while using the skin therapy light…..she can use the skin therapy light and then apply it after.
With skin treatments, like Chemical peels…..it just depends on the chemical peel….some of them are pretty intense and will do a fairly deep peel (taking off layers)….other skin treatment peels are more mild and will cause the skin to be red and maybe a little swollen….then the skin will peel over the next few days.
If she is having the intense version: she will want to wait a day or so to calm down then start using the skin therapy light….if she is having the less intense (mild version) she can use the skin therapy light right away and the light will help with the redness and help with the healing process and peeling
Overall the skin therapy light is good to use after someone has had a skin treatment peel as it will help speed up the healing process, redness. She should also consider using a skin treatment product with a peptide as it will penetrate farther and will achieve awesome results.”

DPL Skin Therapy for skin repair
It’s cold, cold, cold here in Minnesota. I decided to brave the cold this past Saturday and walk outside. I got all bundled up and wore my Ugg boots with no socks. My feet were toasty the whole walk but somehow I rubbed the skin off of the ball of one of my feet. It was throbbing and burning when I removed my boots. I put my bare foot on top of one of the panels of the DPL unit and used it for about 30 minutes. Abra Cadabra! The pain was gone. The skin was still pink but was no longer sensitive. It is the light with a million skin treatment uses!

Amazing skin treatments for acne with the Clarity Skin Therapy Light
I just talked with a customer and she was raving about the Clarity Skin Therapy Light! Her 15 year old daughter was suffering with terrible acne and was on medication. They purchased the Clarity Skin Therapy Light and started treatment with the blue bulbs. They saw fabulous results and in less than 2 weeks have stopped all skin treatment medication and started using regular facial soap and toner. Her daughter has been getting complimented on her great skin! Now they have switched over to using half red and half blue bulbs. She is still having great success on her face and her back as well. Both the mom and the daughter are so excited and pleased. She said that the reduction of the red scarring is not showing the same immediate results but is improving and the acne has all but stopped. They are faithfully using the Clarity Skin Therapy Light and singing its praises.

Skin Therapy Lights are a great skin treatment for TMJ
Over the summer, a customer who had ordered the DPL skin therapy light called me. She was absolutely thrilled that using the light had reduced the symptoms of TMJ (a condition in which the temporomandibular joint does not function properly) to the point that she was eating nuts for the first time in years. She said that you can’t always believe what you read, but for her, the DPL skin therapy light was like a 9 minute miracle.
